About the Author

Bekah Ferguson, AuthorBekah Ferguson grew up in Ontario, Canada, in the wilds of Muskoka. She loves romance and clever mysteries, and has devoured novels of such nature for as long as she can remember. To her, there's nothing like a fresh cup of tea, a cozy armchair and a riveting book.

In her teen years, she began her first attempt at writing a novel but still had much to learn. After five years of practice and studying the craft, she started a new project in 2003, and completed The Starfish manuscript in early 2006; followed by Weeping Willow , which she co-wrote within the same year. She is currently seeking a literary agent to represent The Starfish .

Bekah is a prolife advocate and volunteered at a local pregnancy care centre from 2007-2009. The centre provides help, support and resources to young women facing crisis-related pregnancies. She now volunteers her time from home, assisting the centre with various writing projects and the upkeep of their website. Her self-published booklet, Hey Dad, Let's Talk was developed for a father-daughter banquet in February 2009 which was held to raise funds for the pregnancy centre. Hey Dad, Let's Talk 2 went to print in January 2010, and was used as the evening giveaway for the second-annual father-daughter banquet held in support of the pregnancy centre.

Bekah spends a lot of time studying theology and common issues affecting Christians and non-Christians alike. Her blog reflects that knowledge, ranging from topics of faith to idol-worship, sexual purity, thought life and self-esteem, abortion and materialism. Having struggled with weight issues and food addiction for many years herself, she writes with firsthand experience about body image and weight loss.

In fiction, she strives to portray the universal truths of God's Word in ways that are gripping and entertaining. Jesus often taught in parables, and in a similar fashion, Bekah believes redemptive fiction is a powerful avenue for guidance and inspiration; an impetus for Christlike living.
